Ring in the 2023 New Year in the Quiet Resorts with a Run/Walk. The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) proudly presents the 12th Annual Hair of the Dog 5K run/one mile walk! The 5K and 1 Mile walk start at 10 AM. Please join us in celebrating the 2022 Hair of the Dog 5k run/one mile walk – both LIVE and VIRTUALLY! For the virtual option, you can race anytime, anywhere from November 15th to January 1st. All pre-registered (by December 2, 2022)registrants will receive a commemorative long sleeve t-shirt with a cool refreshed design!
Online registration for these events closes Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 5 PM. Packet pick up will be on Saturday, December 31, 2022, from 1 – 5 PM at Mango’s in Bethany Beach. There will be onsite registration on Friday, however, event shirts are not guaranteed. Register Here

How It Works
- Register – Choose your live or virtual event: 5K Run/Walk or 1 Mile Walk.
- Virtual Race – Walk or run ANY day from now until November 15th to January 1st. Use a fitness watch or smartphone app to track your distance and time. Take a picture of your record.
- Share – Submit your time and picture of your record. Submit your results. Share photos on Facebook and Instagram!
- Live Run/Walk – Register online before December 15, 2022 and show up on New Years Day at the Bethany Beach boardwalk for the run or walk.
LIVE 5K run or One Mile Walk
- Run/Walk along the streets of beautiful Bethany Beach, DE and finishing on the boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
- The 5K is a chip timed event (chips are located on your bibs) by Races2Run Timing Systems
- Dogs are allowed on the 1 Mile Walk Only
RACE POLICY:
- Rain or shine event
- Walkers permitted in the 1 Mile or 5K (No walker awards)
- Dog with Owners are permitted in the 1 Mile walk only. Please start in the back of the walkers
- Please have “doggy doo doo” bags with you and all messes must be cleaned up by the Owner
- Strollers must start at the back of the 5K field
- There are no refunds for any reason.

Virtual 5K Run – Anywhere, Anytime
- In a park
- Your favorite residential route
- A high school track
- On a treadmill
- Run one of the many trails in our beautiful state parks
Run anywhere you want! Just make sure you record it.
